In the early days of cinema, even before color was added to film, three men ruled the comedic world of Hollywood. Moe, Larry, and Curly became the kings of comedy and were called “The Three Stooges”. These men brought something new to the film industry. For decades, these men became icons of comedy. For almost three decades, this trio ruled the comedic scene. The renowned directors claimed that they aren’t aiming for a remake or a biopic, but just an episode of the famous trio set in the present time. Over a year of ironing out the final list of casting, clearly the team had a few problems and loop holes to settle. Before 20th Century Fox, this project was handled by MGM but the company declared bankruptcy. Led by a power house cast namely Sean Hayes as Larry Fine and Will Sasso as Curly Howard, there could never had been actors who’ll fit the role perfectly. Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe Howard; it is interesting to see a dramatic/action actor take on role that could test the limits of his capabilities. Jim Carrey tasked to take on the role of Curly Howard, which he already prepared for by gaining 40 pounds, but his physicians advised him that further weight gain could cost his health. The movie starts with the trio being literally thrown in the door of an orphanage operated by nuns. Henceforth they were raised by sisters in the orphanage, namely Sister Mary-Mengele, Sister Rosemary and the Mother Superior which are played by Larry David, Jennifer Hudson and Jane Lynch respectively. The story eventually progressed with all of them grown up. They are faced with the challenges trying to save their beloved orphanage. All the farce physical and extreme slapstick begins which can make you laugh out of your seat. They all end up starring in their own TV show.
